Mark, Death dreams and dreaming of dying are more about transition (or changes) that the dreamer is going through in their life. For someone really young – it’s pretty understandable. Young people go through so many changes! Death dreams are kind of your mind’s way of dealing with change and changes.

If something at school or at home changes at all, your mind has to “wrap itself” around the change – kind of process all of the information like a computer process information we type into it, you know? If we give the computer too much information at a time – it might blow its stack!

If we go through a lot of stuff, our mind feels like blowing its stack. Sometimes it does so by presenting us with crazy dreams.

And, guess what, sometimes the changes going on aren’t even BAD changes. Sometimes they’re good. But we still have to deal with and cope with them. Hello, crazy dreams!

Some things that go on in a young person’s life that affects their dreams are:

1. A baby brother or sister being born.
2. Parents divorcing, arguing, re-marrying, etc.
3. A family move.
4. A friend moving away.
5. A friend “changing” or acting differently.
6. A new teacher or a new school.
7. Changes in themselves or their bodies.
8. Changes in a favorite team.

Sometimes even summer vacation can trigger crazy dreams and dreams about death – after all, it’s a change.

When things get quieted down and the “change” becomes more the “norm,” I’m sure your dreams will go back to normal. If you need someone to talk to, please see a relative, friend, or teacher you can trust. If the dreams continue, please let me know – either here in the comments or e-mail me.

Hi My name is Mark. I’m 11 going onto 12 and I’ve been dreaming about death for quite a while. Mostly its about me being killed or commiting suicide. I have no idea why but it just shows Jesus looking down sad.(by guessing its pass armageddon) I still cry out of anger and the school psychologist and teacher thought I’m going mad because I was expressing my feelings in a notebook. I feel that they want me to tell them but I am uncomfortable with that. Its not like I’m going to get up and yell at the people who I dislike and get annoyed by.(especially since the school is a type of school where kids from Artesia go to and are wannabe ghetto people and involves a lot of cussing and I put in the notebook “f word” so and so) I want to know why I’m so mad all the time(Harry Potter?)
and dream these things about people in my family and life dying and me dying. Praise God that I haven’t tried killing myself. I bet the whole district thinks I’m crazy. Look I’m misunderstanded and people take it the wrong way. My sadness hasn’t been this much since my grandpa disowned me and the rest of my dad’s family. I also fear the death of my grandmother who I love very much. Earlier I was crying because I just got an image of Jesus sad….I just hope He expells the darkness in my heart. I just feel like hurting or destroying something when I’m pushed to that point. Please help me because I feel like the district is going against me. – Mark H. I am 15,
I have had this dream for weeks now and one part of it is always the same. The rest is different. And in that part, there is a baby. She is a brown baby. Very cute. Then a man comes towards her with a gun. He stops at the babies head and points the gun at her head. I then block my ears and close my eyes. After the shot (that actually sounded like a pop) their is people around me, crying. It stops there. What does it mean?!

My sister’s boyfriend is having dreams of her dying in car accidents, in this dream he sees a shadowy figure everywhere he goes, and this shadow finally puts it’s hand on his shoulder and tells him: “this isn’t a dream, it’s just preparing you for the future” What could this dream mean?

i dont know why but i just had a dream last night that reminded me…..when i was like 6 years old like every night i would have the same dream….i would be tied up & my family was in the back of the house my mom my brother & my dad & the house would be on fire ….& i always try to wake myself up…everytime i dream it is like im actually in the dream world i dont know if this is good or bad or if im just crazy but i know what im doing & it is really weird & creepy & i couldent speak in my dreams
