Sleeping Beauty - How Quality zzzzs Can Give You the Make-Over You Want!

Let's "face" it, we spend lots and lots of money in the pursuit of beauty. Facial creams, lotions, astringents, botox, plastic surgery - then of course we have to add in the the countless beauty magazines and books we grab weekly. This truly is a million dollar industry.

Yet the best thing we can do for our looks is absolutely free, available to all, and doesn't require a prescription. Sleep!

No cream in the world can equal the skin benefits quality sleep can bestow upon your face. And no make-up in the world can fake the healthy glow that comes from a really good night's sleep. (Nor can it completely hide the bad effects of losing sleep.)

Sleep renews, recharges and refreshess not only our minds and spirits, but our skin as well. Have you ever lost sleep for a few nights in a row and been shocked at what you saw in the mirror. You probably looked a good ten years older! Thankfully this isn't permanent, all that's required is sleep to get those ten years back.

You not only look better when you've gotten enough sleep, you feel better. This causes you to be more vivacious, more talkative, more interesting....all in all more attractive. There'll be more pep in your personality, more vigor in your voice and more wiggle in your walk!

How much sleep is enough? In general, we need eight hours of sleep each night. Certain periods of our lives will require more sleep, certain ones require less. One of the best ways we know of to measure how much you need is to keep a sleep journal. At the end of this article you will find a link which says "Sleep Journal Template" - click on the link for a (free, of course) sleep journal page. Print out about a week's worth, seven in all. Fill them out accordingly and you should get a pretty clear picture of your sleep habits. If you find yourself extremely tired by the middle of the day, or if you have difficulty getting going in the morning, try getting to bed an hour earlier each day the following week, print out 7 more templates, and see if this helped.

When you're trying to attain more sleep, be ready to use self-discipline. Sometimes, we have to cast an evening show aside. If you normally watch the late news, maybe you could start watching the 5:00 or 6:00 news instead.

Something else to watch out for is too much food or caffeine in the evening. After 6:00 pm, it's a good idea to switch to decaf. Caffeine acts as a stimulate, and while it's vital to our mornings, it can lead to staring at the ceiling in our evenings.

Sweet dreams, sleeping beauty!
