Lucid Dreams

Lucid dreams are simply dreams in which the dreamer is aware that he/she's dreaming. They are so majestic and sensational that the dreamer's mind tells them, "This couldn't be real....it must be a dream." These dreams even tend to be more vibrant and intense than regular dreams, which is why they're called "lucid dreams".

You can actually even develop the skill of lucid dreaming! It's alot like learning a new language....except it's easier and arguably funner. The two main prerequisites are motivation and effort. You have to begin with patience and perseverence, but you can develop the ability.

Before you can get anywhere in this quest, however, you have to be strong in the area of dream recall. A dream journal will assist you greatly, and a good dream guide such as "What Your Dreams Mean" is a must. (You can order yours below.)

You have to be able to recall your dreams and to recognize their patterns and features. A good dream guide and dream journal will help you stay focused and will assist you in remembering what you have dreamt. If your dream recall is weak, you risk having lucid dreams but not remembering having had them!

Get into the practice of writing down information about your dreams first thing upon wakening. Don't think that you'll get around to it later, odds are you will have forgotten very important details by the time "later" rolls around.

Once you've become very proficient at recalling your dreams, you're ready to try your luck out at "programming" dreams....actually telling yourself what you want to dream about! There are subliminal exercises that you can do to become a master at this. We recommend the books that you see to your left - the first one is a real necessity.

The area of Lucid Dreaming is such a vast one that one article just can't cover very much ground - to be honest, we're still researching the field ourselves! We'll be adding more content to the site dealing with Lucid Dreams very soon (We're reading everything we can get our collective hands on!), so be sure to check back.

Until then, one of the best websites we've found for Lucid Dreaming is Dream Views.com. You'll really want to look around this site, and bookmark it because you'll want to go back again and again!
