Vampire Dream!

Writing by Joi on Wednesday, 30 of August , 2006 at 10:49 am

I dreamed that i was surrounded by 80 vampires and i knew they were vampires,
but they didn’t know i knew. I gave them this poison to kill them and 79 died.
The survivor, whick was also the “leader” lived because he knew i poisoned him
and he drank milk, which was the antidote. Then I grabbed a voodoo-doll of him
and stabbed it in the eye and started running, because he was chasing me. I got
away. A week later I was reading a newspaper and the headline said “Wanted-
Blind Vampire” and after i read the article, i looked up and there he was. and
then i woke up. it really freaked me out.

Awesome! I can see how that freaked you out - I’d be freaked out for two forevers after that dream. The two things I’m most terrified of are snakes and vampires. I know, I know - there’s no such thing as vampires, but the mere THOUGHT of them scares me half to death.

Dreams of this nature are kind of complicated. For one thing, if they’re brought on by eating too much right before bedtime, by a fever, or by medication(s), their interpretation really isn’t very accurate.

However, if none of those things were present - the answer lies in THE CHASE. All “monster” dreams usually involve a chase, and this one’s no exception. The fact that you’re trying to run away from or escape something is symbolic of your day to day life. It’s quite possible that you have something in your life that you’re needing to confront….something or someone you need to face.

The dream could also be speaking of repressed (hidden) emotions, anger, fear, or bitterness. A nightmare like this one tells the dreamer, “Just let go of this or that - you’ll be much better off.” Carrying things around inside, ultimately, only hurt the carrier.

Another interesting thing: The fact that you blinded the vampire symbolizes a desire to “not see something” or to want to “look the other way” - this could be something you, yourself, don’t want to face - but it could also be symbolic of something someone you care about is refusing to face.

Thanks for sharing your fascinating dream!

Flying Anxietites!

Writing by Joi on Wednesday, 30 of August , 2006 at 10:01 am

hello…please i need your help…i am not very well lately…
115 persons from my university are going to visit france as an educational
excursion…
we will be divided in two groups…the first will leave at 2 of september while
the other one at 10/9. in the second group participate more students than the
first.
i saw in my dream that the first group went to france and returned and i was at
this group. ar 10 of december i saw that i was at the airport and that the
second group of students were leaving…they were distributed in two
airplanes…the first took off and then fell…the second began to took off a
few minutes later but crashed…i was there and watching the whole thing…the
only thing i remember is that i was worried about the people on the plane and i
think i saw one that was ok…
note that in real life i am supposed to fly with the second group but my
friends were at the first so i changed group and thats what i saw in my
dream.the similarities between dream and reality are so worrying.
PLEASE TELL ME IS IT A PROPHETIC DREAM?

Hi! I can see how you’d be apprehensive - who wouldn’t be after a dream like that?!?! However, take it from me, We create our own destiny, our dreams do not. This dream is simply your anxieties running amok while you sleep. Our dream minds LOVE to take different aspects of our lives and come up with “worst case scenarios” - it’s just the way our mind “copes” with the stress we face in our day to day world.

A trip like this is pretty exciting - but also kind of traumatic. So your mind plays the, “Wouldn’t it be horrible if…” game. When you’re awake, it can’t get your attention to play the game, but when you’re sleeping, it has your FULL attention.

This is a very, very exciting time for you - one you’ll always look back on! You’re making some amazing memories, so don’t let your “mind games” get in your way or cause you any more stress. It’s perfectly normal and understandable - but life can’t be lived in fear. It just doesn’t qualify as life then!

Have a great time and live in the moment, I’m excited for you!

A Balance Act

Writing by Joi on Wednesday, 30 of August , 2006 at 9:45 am

I had a unforgetable dream about being in the kitchen of a small house. The
kitchen was full size with island counter found in most 4 bedroom 3 baths size
house but the house seemed small in my dream though. On the kitchen island
counter there was a slightly ancient looking solid black box. I opened the box
and came out endless lines of lices. They crawled out very slowly in multiple
lines onto the counter. At the same time, torrents of water started to flood
into the kitchen from where wall and the floor meet from all side of the room.
I immediately searched the kitchen cabinets for anything to kill lices with. I
found a unknown chemical spray can and started to spray all over the box. I
sucessfully killed all of them and they stopped coming out of the box. But
water kept coming in. Soon the house started to dip one side and then opposite
side, like a see saw found in kid’s playground. I stood in the middle of the
house to balance the house and was somewhat sucessful but water kept coming in.
I remember someone I knew was in the kitchen when all this took place but cant
remember the face or who it was exactly. Throughout the ordeal I remember being
unnerved but didnt panic nor freak out. I told my girlfriend, whom I love very
much for past 2 years, about the dream. She was little shaken after I told her
about my dream. That same night she had a dream that she was in the middle of
forest inside a house and it started to flood also. She wouldnt elaborate
further. But she didnt dream about any lice or insects coming out. I also dont
know where in the house she was when it started to flood. Please try to explain
what this could mean.

Although this sort of dream can leave you drained emotionally and mentally (and sometimes even physically), they’re kind of invigorating, aren’t they?? It’s as though you’ve produced, directed, and starred in your own movie…. a very action-filled one, with an air of mystery.

There are some really amazing Dream Symbols in your dream:

  • The small house = intimacy
  • The Kitchen=a desire to “hang onto” parts of your childhood
  • The ancient box=something precious and sacred to you
  • The playground=also speaks of your childhood
  • The water/floods=cleansing, washing
  • Kitchen Island=isolation
  • The lice=something “pesky” that’s “bugging” you

I really feel that there’s something in your past that you’re trying to get a handle on - or someone in your past (like a parent) that you’re trying to deal with. All of the symbols are joining together to form a particular picture, here, so bear with me as I try to lay it out. Even if it all isn’t true for you, I believe several parts will be.

You appear to be trying to create a bridge between your past and your future. I believe the “face” you spoke of but couldn’t quite recognize was a symbol for you - but it was the you of your past, not your present, or your future.

I believe that your conscience was confronting him in a way. Either looking for answers or, more likely, simply wanting ALL of you to be on board for moving over that bridge into the future!

You see, even with all of the beautiful dream symbols (Dream symbols to me are like jewels to a pirate!), the most important aspect of this dream lies within your own words… “I stood in the middle of the
house to balance the house and…”

You were taking action - physically trying to accomplsh something, and that “something” is the key to everything - BALANCE. You are desperately searching for a way to balance your yesterday, your today, and your tomorrow - whether you actually realize that’s what you’re doing or not. Your subconscience mind is pretty much telling you… “Wash away parts of your past that are infesting your present and threatening your future.”

With all of this said, I want you to realize one thing: The “past” doesn’t necessarily have to be a bad one - your childhood may have been incredibly wonderful, and filled with love and happiness. That could be as difficult to build a bridge AWAY from as an unpleasant childhood. Those of us who had happy, love-filled childhoods simply are never in a hurry to grow up and away from that - we fear, in a sense, that we’ll never find that much love, security and happiness elsewhere.

I believe you have already begun your bridge leading you from back there to up there and I believe your girlfriend is up there waiting for you! I sincerely hope that the two of you have a beautiful future together - filled with more smiles than frowns, more laughing than crying, and so much love that people can hardly stand to be in the same room with the two of you!

Thank you for submitting your dream - I’m not sure why, but it’s left me in a very good mood. I’m picking up on a great deal of love in your life and that makes me smile. Best of luck!

Dreams of Orange

Writing by Joi on Monday, 28 of August , 2006 at 10:30 am

I heard that the person that I am in love with was renewing his wedding vows but
when I saw him he wasn’t wearing his wedding ring and he was wearing a bright
orange polo shirt.

Orange is a vibrant color that symbolizes vibrancy, passion, energy, and hope. Since the dream included a romantic partner (or at least a potential romantic partner), I’d say that you you are excited about your romantic life right now - about the possiblilites and about its vibrant future.

Your dream’s pretty much telling you to never count love out - where there’s love, there’s always hope.

Thanks for sharing your colorful dream. :)

Best of luck and love!

Money Dreams and What they Mean

Writing by Joi on Wednesday, 16 of August , 2006 at 9:24 am

I had a dream that I found lots of money, what does this mean?

In two words, high expectations! You’re expecting something in your life - something that you want BADLY….it could be love, a job, a house, furniture, a mended relationship, an education, or just about anything (or anyone).

You’re apparently doing the whole “positive thinking” thing, because I believe you truly expect this desire to come your way. That’s awesome! All great things come about, either directly or indirectly, as a result of positive thinking. So keep it up and watch for your dreams to come true!

Thanks so much for submitting your dream.

Dreaming of Searching For….

Writing by Joi on Monday, 14 of August , 2006 at 3:50 pm

A recently submitted dream deals with a frustrating dream theme: Searching for something, yet being unable to find it. Here’s the dream:

I walked into a garage, Someone was with me although I could not see the face, I
remember speaking to him. Telling him we had to find the pure white one, we had
to save it. There were kittens and baby bunnies, gerbils and big furry hamsters
everywhere. I would say at least 20-30 baby kittens, not quite that many rabbits
and less still of the gerbils and hamsters. I remember that there were several
of the kittens and a few of the baby bunnies that had died. All of the kittens
were gray, like typical alley cats. Most of the bunnies were a mixed and or dull
color. I remember feeling like it was extremely important to find a pure white
kitten and to save it. We searched every nook and cranny, finally coming across
2 kittens that were orange and white. They were both dead, but that was as close
as we came to pure white. I remember feeling extremely hurt, disappointed that
there were no white kittens at all, dead or alive for us to save. I remember
walking back through the door and taking one last look, and was terribly
saddened that we couldn’t find one.

There are lots of different schools of thought in Dreamology involving “furry” animals in dreams. I say “furry” because the symbolism for a cat or rabbit will be vastly different from that of a snake, tiger, bear, or even a dog. Personally, I believe “furry” animals indicate the heart…or, more specifically, our most heart-felt emotions. What better way for the subconcious mind to portray emotions than with something that moves everyone’s emotions: Adorable, innocent kittens or bunnies. The fact that both were present in your dream indicates that there are A LOT of emotions involved.

Another important aspect of the dream is the search, itself. As you were searching “in every nook and cranny” in your dream, I believe you are searching “in every nook and cranny” in your day to day life. If you had been searching for only one animal or thing in your dream, I’d say that you were searching for someone or something in particular - a Prince or Princess Charming, a job, a college, a house, etc. But there were multiple animals you were looking for.

The two dead kittens represent the emotions you described: extremely hurt, disappointed, terribly sad.

I believe the animals symbolize your emotions….how you FEEL about someone or something. It could be a friend, soulmate, relative, situation, job, or something that someone has done or said. Whomever, or whatever it is has left you kind of “floored”. You aren’t sure how you truly feel, let alone how you should react.

The fact that you were looking for “white kittens” indicates that you are looking for one thing above all others:

A fresh start. White = unblemished, unmarked, pure, free of any “scratches.” Kittens= new. If someone has done something to upset you, for example - you desperately want to erase the slate and start fresh. The same would be true, of course, if you were the one who hurt someone you love. Maybe even more so.

I hope, very much, that you find that fresh start. Don’t settle for anything less!

Dream Analysis of a Recurring Nightmare

Writing by Joi on Wednesday, 9 of August , 2006 at 8:49 am

A recently submitted dream:

Being somewhere with my husband (ie. beach, mountains, walking in a field) and
next thing you know there is a huge wave, cliff or deep hole and we fall and the
only way to save my husband is to sacrifice (kill) myself. I wake up and jump
out of bed to get as far away from my husband as possible. I usually go to the
bathroom get a drink of water and then try to go back to sleep but it is so hard
after such and intense dream. My breathing is heavy, I’m shaking all over, and
usually too awake to go back to sleep.

To make matters worse, she says this is a recurring dream. Several things can lead to recurring dreams:

1. Whatever is “behind” the dream is uncommonly intense - so much so that the dreamer’s subconcious refuses to “drop it” until the message is received!

2. Sometimes a dream will recur simply because we spend a great deal of time thinking about it - we reinforce it in our minds, leading to its return.

Because of the extreme nature of the dream, I’d say that this dreamer has both of the above factors working against her!

First of all, it helps to realize that very, very, very often - when we first awake from the dream, whatever emotions we feel at that time are the most prevalent ones behind the dream. In this case, the emotions seem to fall under the following captions: fear, anxiety, suspicion (indicated by “wanting to get away” from her husband - as though he were somehow dangerous to her well-being), and an overwhelming desire to escape.

Second of all, I want to say that while the husband may be on the receiving end of these feelings - that doesn’t have to be the case. It could, rather, be something he’s tied to or associated with. The husband could simply be symbolizing his ex-wife, ex-girlfriend, one of his family members, a co-worker of his, or even one of his habits.

The fact that the dreamer’s initial reaction is to get away from him doesn’t mean she hates him - it only means that he’s “tied to” something that brings about the emotions listed above (fear, anxiety, suspicion, and the desire to escape) - the emotions first experienced upon waking. These emotions are behind the dreams.

——————————

When you’re able to put your finger on exactly what or who your husband symbolizes - you’ll be able to deal with the situation. This could simply be your mind’s way of forcing you to deal with something you’ve been putting off. There could be something in your life bothering you more than you’ve been letting on. Sometimes when we try to “shake things off” sooner than we’re ready to, we end up doing ourselves more harm than anyone else.

For this dreamer, and for anyone else who has had similar dreams, I’d say this: Search your heart and mind. Ask yourself what emotions are at work inside of you right now. Dig a little deeper and get to the root of these emotions. Once you’ve uncovered the root(s), don’t bury them back under - - - - - dig them up and deal with them!!! When you’re ready (and only when you’re ready) to bury them, do so. Now, they should stay buried - because you’re doing so on your own terms.
