Below is a recently submitted dream:
Hi,
Here’s a dream I had a coople of days ago.
I visit an Art museum in Japan. I go about there, getting out of one of the rooms I bump into a childhood male friend. I avoid him though he recognized me. I then carry a digital camera and take pictures of whatever catches my eye. I remember approaching one or two spaces inside the museum which were fascinating, it was huge pieces of art, very colorful paintings which seemed like real natural scenery. I was taking pictures of that as well. It was as if I am in nature.
Downstairs on ground floor was the museum shop. It had all kinds of drawing papers, painting brushes, caligraphy and other painting stuff, however it wasn’t in my head I had no intention of purchasing any. When I passed by that childhood friend he was on my left side sitting on a bench, I was somewhat embarassed being on my own so I headed the escalator that took me upstairs.
I then took the flight back home. I remember standing on board as there were not seats. It was a huge airplane. I was alone on an upper floor which seemed to be still under construction, there was a window or a door wide open so I secured myself inside a niche afraid of being pulled outside the airplane. The flight was scary as the pilot was taking sharp turns. I heard people urging the pilot to take care not to loose control.
Eventually we landed safe and sound. I remember reading the airplane’s technical book, I read there was a problem with the fuel, they were pumping fuel. I asked the supervisor who briefly affirmed to me that it was a problem with the fuel they had to get more fuel.
Thanks a lot.
Hi! First of all, you’re welcome and Thank You for sending us your dream!
There are a couple of great symbolisms in this dream. I believe the most important one to be the plane. This plane represents your ambitions and hopes - what you most want from life.
Here are the most common Plane dreams with a brief analysis:
A. In dreams where the individual finds themself flying on a plane, without any problems whatsoever, it is a sign that things are perfectly on course for them to realize their goal (quite honestly, very few people have those dreams!)
B. If someone dreams that they’re on a plane that’s being threatened by someone elses actions or carelessness, they are aware that there is someone in their life that could hinder their progress in reaching their goal(s).
C. If the plane is having mechanical problems, or problems which can’t be pinned on anyone in particular - it’s a sign that they’re on the right track, and closer than they realize to their dreams. However, they’re beginning to slack off at a time when they should work harder than ever.
Your particular dream falls under both categories B and C, so your subconscious mind is telling you to be wary of someone who poses a threat to your success and to be wary of your own desire to rest. If you rest while someone is near who is a threat, things could go downhill fast!
Cameras symbolize memory…more specifically a desire to remember and recall a certain period of time. I believe the childhood friend and the art musuem are clues that your mind wants to get back in touch with your school days. It seems to be taking you back to school! This could be its way of encouraging you to study more, take college classes, read more, etc….or it could simply want to remind you of a time when there was more structure and order in your days.
An art musuem often symbolizes order, neatness and, more than anything, structure. Combined with the friend, I believe it probably symbolizes an educational facility. The fact that there is an escalator, to me, symbolizes to me that the mind is telling you that this is the way to move up….toward the top.
By the way, I was wondering, do you live in Japan or have you ever been there? If not, there is a second part to this dream. When you dream of a place you’ve never been, it is your mind’s way of saying, “It’s time for a change.”
I’ve always been fascinated by the country of Japan and hope to see it one day. I’ll bet it’s amazingly beautiful!
Thanks again for sharing your dream,
Joi

The latest dream we had submitted for analysis:
I dreamt that my husband and I were standing on the top of a hill in a snow-covered environment. The hill followed a crescent shape…the valley forming a bowl below us. We looked down into the valley, and saw ourselves walking between boulders….we were being followed by three polar bears, but we didn’t know it. We were about to shout out a warning to ourselves, when another four bears began to descend from the hill to our right, walking towards the other bears and our other selves…and we were unable to call out, for fear of attracting their attention. Then, I woke with a start. I would be very grateful if you could advise me as to what this dream might mean, and if there is any significance in the numbers of the bears? Thank you.
I love it when Numerology meets dreamology, which is happening here. It’s been a while since I’ve heard of a dream of this type, so this one was a pleasant arrival in my inbox.
Many people wrongly believe that Bears symbolize danger. But, most of us don’t really face bears in our day to day existence. They actually represent fear… fear that may or MAY NOT be justified.
The number 7 is a symbol of completion (stemming from the 7 days of creation)
This particular dream is actually acknowledging the fact that something you had felt fearful about (or at the very least aprehensive), has past. That part of your life has been “completed”, and can be put behind you. Thanks for submitting your fascinating dream!

Here is the latest dream we had submitted for analysis:
I was wondering what this dream meant.I dreamt that i was in an apartment with alot of friends and family. It was like a get together, but what captured my mind was and still is that my deceased older brother was sitting at a table with me and our parents discussing something about some money, and the other thing is that my best friend that i havent seen in a couple years was pregnant. Can someone tell me anything about this dream.I would really appreciate it. Thank you.
The symbolism in this dream is fascinating. There is death represented by the dreamers brother and life represented by the friend’s baby.
Essentially, the two gateways of life are represented - the beggining and the end. I believe this dream indicates that the dreamer is, in a particular area of their life, at a stand still. They aren’t really moving forward or backward. Due to the fact that money was being discussed, it very well could be career related. However, due to the large number of family and friends, it could also be refering to a particular relationship in the dreamers life. For example, if there are any “bridges” that need “mending”, the dream is telling the dreamer to do so now because life’s too precious to hang on to negative feelings. Only the dreamer can say for sure. Thanks for submitting the fascinating dream!

Did you know that loss of sleep does more than just make you tired and irritable? It has also been proven to cause gastrointestiinal problems, menstrual irregularities and even heart disease.

What follows is a recent dream submitted to us from one of our blog readers:
I had a dream that Iwandered into a neighborhood that appeared to be lower class and strange, but very familiar to me. The small, modest, square houses were set up in rows and columns–the neighborhood was organized on a grid.
When I walked down a street into the group of houses, I saw an old friend, who also happened to be my first (and second) kiss, though we never dated. He felt very farmiliar, and we immediately embraced. Although in reality I haven’t personally seen him in two years and we only speak online once in a great while, in the dream I felt as if we were in a relationship. He held me the whole time, and I saw friends from my old church (the boy’s father was the pastor there until his family moved to another city), and we talked for a while. We walked around the streets and went in and out of a few homes. I seemed to know everyone.
The neighborhood appeared to be predominately hispanic (which isn’t unusual around where I live-the southern gulf coast of Texas), and very traditional. The women wore ankle-long, white cotton skirts, with several layers, and colorful shirts with ruffles, as well as colorful, patterned shawls. Their long black hair was braided, and all of the women in the houses were very friendly. I remember seeing lots of laundry hanging out to dry.
While we were walking, the woman for whom I babysit came running up to me and asked where Abby, her almost-3-year-old daughter was. I told her that I had left her with one of the women in one of the houses, and she was instantly relieved, as if she too knew the families that lived in the neighborhood. Abby’s mother is a youth counselor at my new church, which I feel might symbolize either the contrast or the blending of old and new.
The roofs of some homes were old, chipped terra cotta, while others were plain brown roofing shingles. One thing you should know is that I loved, and perhaps still love, the boy who I was with very much, and cared about him deeply. He became closer to me than my own brother, spending days at a time at my house under the pretense that he was hanging out with my brother. The girls from my old church that we saw were ex-girlfriends of his, and though I was friends with them, they sometimes excluded me because they were much closer due to the fact that I went to a different school than them. I have long forgotten how loving the boy felt, but I still think about him now and then. I am not quite sure what this dream means, and I don’t know anything about dream interpretation. Any help you could give me would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you so very much!
First of all, you are so very welcome!
The first thing that strikes me about the dream is that you apparently are missing someone or something a great deal - perhaps even more than you realize. It may be the boy in the dream, of course, but it could just as easily be a place, or even a period of your life.
Many times we get to a point in our life when things are busier than usual or more complicated, and we start missing a time from our past when things were more carefree and easy.
Something else that jumps out is the way you described the neighborhood (”organized on a grid”). This would indicate that you want more order and organization in your life. While you like surprises and enjoy a little drama every now and again, you’d also like to know what to expect tomorrow, and the next day, etc!
Thank you for submitting your dream!

Dragon’s Dream
Buy this Poster at AllPosters.com
I saw this poster this afternoon while looking for one featuring fairies. I know how colorful and fascinating my Dream blog visitors are and knew y’all would find it as hot as I did! Love the expression on the fairies little face….like she’s amused with the dragon - or planning out what she’ll turn him into with a little fairy dust.
Dreaming of fairies OR dragons indicates that the dreamer is extremely creative - so much so that very, very often people just don’t get him or her. This type of person gets a lot of “What were they thinking?” type of looks….which is always fine with them as they enjoy the mystique!

The most recent dream submitted to us for dream analysis involves a common waking emotion. Here’s the dream:
Have you ever seen the movie The Sixth Sense? If so, perhaps you’ll understand my dream more correctly. (I haven’t seen this movie in months.)
I dreamed I was a few miles from the house, walking home. I started to run trying to get home faster. I noticed I was running really fast without getting tired. I looked at my watch and it was around 5:45pm, not dark just yet. I challenged myself to try to get home before 6:00pm.
As I was running home, the road passes by the access road to a local lake. I noticed the water level was really high due to recent flooding. As I was running by, I passed an ambulance going to the lake. I thought to myself that someone had drowned.
I continued on my way home but the road become extremely steep. So steep, I had to look up and pull with all I had with both hands to get over the hill. I thought I might fall at anytime. With great effort, I finally made it to the top which was close to home. As I got close to home, I began to get a feeling that maybe I was dead. For some reason, I was carrying a paper grocery sack full of my belongings. I reasoned that if I was dead, I would drop end up dropping the sack without trying. As I got near the house I saw my wife carrying my son was waiting on the road. As I went up to her, she didn’t respond but my son did. He started smiling. That’s when the sack dropped.
I stood on the road feeling a total emptiness feeling. I started pacing back and forth and my wife stood there. Within a few minutes my parents walked up and talked with her. They drove off and she started messing with her dress, straightening it up. She seemed very sad. I wanted so bad to hold her but couldn’t.
At this point I woke up to the alarm clock.
The strongest symbol in the dream is the House. A house is a symbol of safety and comfort. We associate it with being safe from the world as well as from anything that could “unsettle” us. The difficulty they dreamer had with making it home, combined with his great desire to get there speaks of at least one unsettling thing he has recently faced in his life.
The second thing that’s really noteworthy is the fact that there’s an underlying fear of being separated from loved ones - in this case a wife and son. This is a very common theme in dreams and is attributed to a separation anxiety of some sort. While it sometimes represents something that the dreamer has recently been “separated” from (such as a friendship, relationship, job, position, ability, etc..), it usually represents something that he or she fears being separated from. For example, I knew of a lady who was having lots of dreams where she couldn’t get to her family. She was nearly making herself sick worrying about the meaning behind the dreams. As it turned out, she had taken a new job (with more hours) and, deep down, was simply worried about the toll it would take on her family.
Other times, there have been dreamers with sons or daughters entering school (or going off to college) who have dreams of this nature. The tricky thing is that most of the time, the person or thing we’re actually worrying about isn’t even in the dream!
In this particular instance, the wife and son may simply represent something or someone else that’s important to the dreamer. The unconcious mind, wanting to represent or symbolize “importance” or “love” calls up two of the people who mean the most to the dreamer. You can’t get any closer than a spouse or child!
Sometimes we go to bed with things on our mind that we don’t fully even realize we’re packing around. Nine times out of ten, it’s these thoughts that make their way into the plot of our dreams. It’s amazing how our minds will interpret the data and give us feedback in the form of fascinating dreams!
Thank you so much for sharing your dream with us.
May 2006 be full of wonderful things for you and your family!!
