To all of the visitors who have submitted your dreams, thank you! I hope you keep them coming. Remember, we will not use your name in the post, just your dream.
I also wanted to say thank you to the wonderfully sweet people who e-mail me after their dream has appeared on the blog, and to the ones who leave comments. When you leave comments, it helps other readers get to know you better and understand the dream analysis even better.
You’re all making this an incredibly fun and exciting blog to do!
Here is the form, again, for you to use to submit your dreams to us:
I will analyze each dream that comes in. The particularly disturbing dreams, I try to answer first - and as soon as possible. Some days, only a few dreams come in, while there have been some days when I’ve gotten more than 10! Many dreamers send them through e-mail with the words PERSONAL in the subject line. This lets me know they want a private answer sent to their e-mail rather than put on the blog. Of course, I’m more than glad to do that also. Some things just aren’t meant for public eyes!

This morning I added a post on the hazards of sleep loss to one of my other blogs, Out of Bounds. Here’s the link: Losses Attributed to a Loss of Sleep.
Could you be doing yourself more harm than good?

Here’s an article I thought was pretty interesting. If you ever have trouble getting to sleep, the following advice may be just what you need!
When you go to bed every night, do you toss and turn? Well here’s a way to fall asleep fast.
Many of your problems are from stress. Tension builds up all day long and it can rarely just go away at bedtime. People require peace of mind at bedtime. Or else you can’t fall asleep. Sleep is ver important to our physical well-being. But if your mind won’t allow your body to fall asleep, we cannot be at peace. If you have too many problems, it’s hard to overcome this cycle. The solution can be a simple, quick, 10 minute before bed routine. You should do this in your bedroom, either on the bed or floor.
Since you are probably tense, it is important to relax. Most people feel the tension in their neck, lower back and sometimes in your upper back between your shoulders. So relaxing the spine is the first step to a calmer you. Here is a yoga pose that may help. Kneel near or on your bed, and sit back with your rear on top of your hands. Bend forward until your chest is resting on your thighs and your forehead is touching the bed or floor with your chin tucked under. Relax your arms on the bed or floor beside your legs, palms up. Hold for 10 seconds. This will help relax your neck, lower back and hips. Deep breathing is very important for your entire body to relax.
Slowly get up. Next, sit on the edge of your bed. Lower your chin to your chest. Push your head forward and your shoulders back as though you are a turtle. Hold this position for 3 to 5 seconds, and repeat three more times.
Now relax your back. Lie on your back and bring your knees up to your chest. Grab your knees just below your kneecaps, and gently turn them to the left five to ten times. The repeat this bringing your knees to the right five to ten times. This should stretch your lower back. And feel very good.
Lay flat on your back and place your arms out with the palms up. Bend your knees and put your feet flat on the floor or bed. Inhale slowly and deeply. As you exhale, slowly drop your knees to the right and turn your head to the left (at the same time). Breathe deeply again, five times. Inhale and return your head and knees to the center and exhale as you lower your legs to the other side. Do this three more times.
Relax and close your eyes. Try to relax all the muscles in your body. Start at the top and work your way down to your toes. This should ease some of the days tensions.
Now get under the blanket. The room should not be too cold (68 to 70 degrees) or too hot (not over 76 degrees). Lie on your back and breathe slowly. Do this four more times and you should start to feel drowsy. A calm, easy, peaceful, feeling should wash over you in about 5 minutes.
The less you worry about not being able to sleep the better. Less worry, more sleep. Think peaceful thoughts. Let the days worries slip away, like bubbles. As they pop, so does the tension and stress of the day. If you train yourself to relax, and think soothing thoughts, sleep should come. Listening to quiet music can also help. Endorphins are released that cause you to relax. Just remember to not think of anything negative. Practice this routine over and over again. And soon your sleep with come quickly and naturally.

I dreamed about a white cat… I have never seen such a beutiful, plump, gracious white cat. So soft, so friendly. It looked like a cat I used to know, but only it was white and bigger now, as if it had gone through a kind of transformation… like Transformers you know. It was just there, around me, just being there. Other persons were fascinated with it too, but she didn’t seem to much like them and I was trying to protect her from the greedy hands.
The beautiful white cat is a sign of peacefulness and contentment. You must be in a very comfortable, happy place in your life.
I’d say that since the cat sort of transformed, this happiness didn’t always exist. Usually when something in our dream has undergone what we know to be a change of some sort, it’s a sign that our life has done the same.
I’m glad that your dream indicates that your change was for the better!
Thank you very much for submitting your dream,

I had a dream last night that i was going to see an estranged friend at his old employers house. I was riding a motorcycle and when i got there i parked under a big green tree. The dirt under me was dry and brown but you could tell it was good soil. My friend came over to me and we hugged. Then he and i walked down the dusty road to the lake. His boss and his boss’ kids were down there the kids swimming the boss just standing there. I never liked the boss and i felt uncomfortable with the situation. I took off my socks and jumped off the peir. It was quiet shallow but it was very heavy and i found it hard to move. When i got to the surface i was glad and i had only to stand to be above water. Then my friend jumped in and did a somersault beside me underwater. When he came up he smiled and grabed my hand and we headed to shore. I was so happy i begain to shake and woke myself up. What do you think this means?
Hi, sounds like a really, really fun dream!
Different trees carry with them different meanings, and the condition of the trees also affect the interpretation. However, when the main thing the dreamer recalls about the tree is the color green, it indicates wealth or friendship. Since you were with an estranged friend in your dream, I’d say that in this case it symbolized the friendship.
The boss, someone you don’t like - indicates a feeling of intense dislike on your part…something that you’re not at all happy about. I can’t help but believe this dislike is about the estrangement with your friend.
The dirt and mud indicate something that you desperately want “cleaned up” - again, the friendship. The water goes along with the dirt and the mud, symbolizing how wonderful things would be if the “mess” was indeed “taken care of.” Notice that it’s after the water that the somersaults occur! That’s when everyone’s happy and having fun.
A final symbol in the dream is the motorcycle. If one dreams of riding a motorcyle, it means that they are in the driver’s seat as far as personal relationships are concerned. (Such as the one with this friend!) A parked motorcycle symbolizes something that’s at a stand-still. (Again, like the friendship!)
I’m amazed at how everything fits together in your dream - dreams are so cool like that. They’re basically fascinating puzzles that are waiting to be pieced together.
When yours is put together, it’s spelling out: MAKE THINGS RIGHT WITH YOUR FRIEND!
Best of luck! Thanks so much for sharing your dream,
Joi

We received a form filled out by someone who had recently endured the loss of a good friend. This individual was literally torturing himself over guilt that he felt.
You see, prior to the friend’s car accident, this dreamer had been experiencing terrible dreams that he didn’t tell the friend about. He is now having dreams involving this friend and even recurring nightmares about the accident.
The first thing I want you to know is, you have to stop blaming yourself. Even if you had never had any dreams prior to the accident, as a friend you’d be asking yourself, “Why didn’t I do this…”, “Why didn’t I do that….” - that’s what those of us who are left behind ALWAYS do. We try to figure out what we could have done to have prevented this loss of life. The truth is, we don’t control the destiny of anyone besides our own, and we aren’t even in 100% control of ours.
I am a dreamologist, I analyze, study and pick apart dreams every single day. I believe they hold a lot of keys to open our locked psyches. I have more books about dreams than any library, and think about dreams more frequently than Emeril thinks about food…..BUT, if someone told me that they’d dreamt I was in a car accident, I wouldn’t change a single thing about my life. If I (totally into dreams) wouldn’t stop coming and going as I normally do, there’s no way your friend would have.
Dreams deal with what has happened or what is happening. To dream of a car crash actually speaks of a recent failure or fear of failure. This could have been something in your friend’s life or even in your own life. It was not speaking in terms of the future…..only the past or the present.
Your dreams and nightmares will end as soon as you realize that the accident had nothing at all to do with you. I promise you, even if you had said something to this friend, he’d have amused you by listening, then would have gone on with his life, never giving your dream(s) a second thought.
Your friend wouldn’t want you to beat yourself up anymore over this. He’d want you to get out there and enjoy life enough for both of you! Remember him, of course, but most importantly, honor him with a life well lived.
Please e-mail me if you ever want to talk - or if you have any other details about the dreams. You sound like a really sweet person and I want very much for you to be happy!

Hi. I was wondering if u could help me to analyze my dreams. I dream every freaking night. And I remember my dream every feeaking morning…not conciously..but it always comes back to me the following morning. Last nite I dreamed that I was in my bed room ( its a small room with one entire wall as a window) & I dreamed that I was looking out of the window & was seeing this calm, blue ocean & it was beautiful. I then went closer to my window & realized that the water was right upto my window with the waves slashing against the wall outside. That’s when I remember thinking in my dream that this was abnormal & I closed the window.
The night before I dreamed of my ex boyfriends other presenting me 4 beautiful gold ornaments. They were antique & exquisite. 2 earings, one “tikka” ( which we wear on the forehead, here in India) & one other thing..can’t remember exactly what it was. My ex boyfriend was there with his wife (he’s now married) & was not looking like himself..he was looking fat & like someone else or something.
Finding ur site & the fact that u analyze dreams for free for strangers is really great. I use to wake up in the morning & google my dreams a lot before but not so much now…I would really appreciate it, if u could help me out here.
Thanks & hugs
Hi! I’d be delighted to analyze your dream(s). Thanks for sending them my way.
Your dreams speak a great deal about the past, and about coming to terms with everything in the past.
First of all, the window: Windows symbolize the separation between what has happened and what is happening. Your dream, fascinatingly, indicates that you want both to shut out parts of the past (when you closed the window), and want to let some parts into your life (indicated by the fact that the window was open in the first place.)
The ocean takes on a lot of different meanings in dreams. This is because it is a symbol for so many different things and emotions. When I dream of the ocean, I’m in the most calm, relaxed place I can be in - because the most relaxed and peaceful days in my life were when I lived by the ocean. However, if anyone endured hurricanes, nearly drowned, or is intensely afraid of sharks, the ocean could very easily represent fear.
Given the context of your dreams, I’d say the ocean is referring to something very wonderful, but possibly turbulent in your past. I say past, simply because it was seen through the window. Turbulent, because you wanted to shut the window. If it symbolized nothing by beauty and wonder, you would have left the window open.
The first thing I think of is a past relationship that, on the surface, was glorious, but down a little further wasn’t really what you needed. Perhaps some part of your mind wants to open the window to the past, while another part wants to close the window.
Even the next dream you describe points to this very type of situation. The beautiful gold gifts, everything seemingly perfect…but then the ex boyfriend isn’t as you remembered him. Again there’s a contrast. Good and bad, both visiting you at once.
Finally, something very interesting: You mentioned that one of the gifts were 4 ornaments. Ornaments indicate a feeling of being unappreciated or undervalued in a relationship. This dream is telling you to be certain that in all future, and present relationships, you are valued and appreciated more than you were in the past one(s).
My favorite part of your dream was the fact that these ornaments were gold. Guess what gold means. Extreme happiness lies ahead! And the brighter and shinier the gold, the more intense and long lasting that happiness will be!!!
Thank you very much for sharing your wonderful dreams - I enjoyed analyzing them.
And, by all means, Thanks and Hugs to you!

Here is one of our most recent dreams submitted for analysis:
The background was sky blue. I saw a beautiful bright white angel with wings coming towards me. Also to her left was a bright star. Looked like she was carrying it in her hand. As the angel got closer to me, the star turned into a young female angel. The older angel said to me, “Take your cancer pill.” It was a clear caspsule with white powder inside with a thin red ring around it. I took the pill. They disappeared.
I felt very calm, peaceful, the angel was very bright but it didn’t bother my eyes. Can you tell me what this means, if anything? Thank you.
This sounds like such a beautiful dream! To better understand it, let’s take it apart and look at the most important components.
First of all, the angels. Biblically, Angels were messengers - and they serve the same purpose in the dream world. They bring messages from our unconcious to our concious.
So the first thing we need to understand about your dream is that there is a clear, important message. I’d say doubly important, given the fact that there are two angels.
Angels also represent your guardian angel, your conscience or even an answer to prayer.
In this instance, I would take out the conscience and say that the older angel represents your guardian angel. If you are a praying individual (which most of us are), I’d say that the younger angel represents an answer to prayer - especially since the older one is presenting the younger one to you.
Also, think about what the younger angel was before she became an angel. A star! Guess what a star symbolizes? Hope, wishes and prayer requests. (It comes from the practice of “Wishing on a star.”)
So your guardian angel is holding your prayer (star), then symbolizes to you that it will be answered (a second angel)!
Excuse the surplus of exclamation marks, but I get so excited when a dream comes together as beautifully as this one, especially when the message is such a beautiful one!
The color blue signifies heaven, eternity and tranquility. Generally, the lighter the shade, the more tranquility is meant.
As for the medicine, when we see ourselves taking medication in our dreams, we are admitting that there is something we need help with in our lives. We have come to terms with the fact that we can’t handle a certain situation by ourselves and acknowledge the need for others to help us.
Whether it is actually an illness or other situation you face, I’d say that the medicine in the dream, combined with the spirituality that the angels and the color blue represent indicate that you realize that everything lies in God’s capable hands.
I also love the fact that you mentioned the word peaceful….many times when we’re describing our dreams, the words we use paint a picture of the meaning of the dream. This dream was definitely meant to give you peace.
Along with the beautiful dream, I want to wish you all the peace of mind in the world. I have no way at all of knowing your details, but I assume there is illness involved.
As a dreamologist, I want you to know that this dream is a very, very positive one and you should be encouraged. As a Christian, I just want to say,”Keep praying! Prayers are answered every second of the day.”
Sweet dreams,
Joi

All I dreamed about was that I was around old but old houses, what does that mean?
Houses, in dreams, actually symbolize our lives. Our mind uses them to give us clues into areas of our lives while we are awake.
For example, if the house is cluttered and chaotic, the dreamer can be sure that their life has become entirely too busy, and that they need to slow down.
A new house represents “a new, fresh start.” Many ex-smokers dream of shiny new homes after they’ve smoked their last cigarette.
You may have guessed by now, that an old house speaks of your old life. Many dreamologists believe that it indicates something that you need to come to terms with from the past. While this could very well be true (probably for everyone!), this dream could simply be a side effect of thinking about someone or something from your past recently.
I’ve found that if the house is obviously in need of repairs, then there are aspects in the past that you may need to deal with, but if the house is simply old - you have probably simply been visiting your past in your memories lately.
Thanks for sharing your dream!!
